Copyright & IP Policy

Who owns what on AYE Market, and how we handle infringement claims.

Last updated: July 17, 2026 · Version 1.0

This Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy explains ownership of content on AYE Market, what you're allowed to upload, how to report infringement, and what happens to accounts that infringe repeatedly. It applies to listing photos, descriptions, profile content, reviews, and anything else you upload to the AYE Market app or website (the "Service"), operated by AYE Tech Hub ("we," "us," "our").

1. Ownership of your content

You retain ownership of the photos, descriptions, CVs, reviews, and other content you upload to AYE Market. Posting content doesn't transfer ownership to us — it only grants us the limited license described below, which we need to actually run the Service.

2. The license you grant us

By posting content, you grant AYE Tech Hub a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content as necessary to operate the Service — for example, showing your listing photos in search results, category feeds, the full-screen zoom gallery, and shared links. This license lasts as long as the content remains on the Service and ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to the retention practices described in our Privacy Policy.

3. What you must not upload

Use real, original photos of the actual item you're selling. This isn't just good practice — it's a requirement.

4. AYE Market's own intellectual property

The AYE Market name, logo, app design, and underlying software are the property of AYE Tech Hub and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the app, the website, or AYE Market's branding without our prior written permission. This restriction doesn't apply to your own listing content — only to AYE Market's own brand and software.

5. Takedown request process

If you believe a listing, photo, or other content on AYE Market infringes your copyright or trademark, email ayetechub@gmail.com with:

  1. The direct link (URL) to the listing or content in question.
  2. A description of the copyrighted or trademarked work you believe is being infringed.
  3. Your relationship to that work (owner, authorized representative, etc.) and a way to contact you.
  4. A brief statement that you believe, in good faith, that the use is not authorized.

AYE Market doesn't yet operate an automated takedown system or a designated agent under any specific statutory framework — every claim is reviewed manually by a member of our team. We aim to review and act on valid, complete claims promptly, typically by removing or restricting the reported content while we investigate further if needed.

6. If your listing was removed in error

If your own content was removed following an infringement claim and you believe that was a mistake — for example, you do hold the rights, or the claim was made in bad faith — reply to our notification or email ayetechub@gmail.com with an explanation and any proof of your rights. We review counter-claims the same way we review the original report.

7. Repeat-infringer policy

Accounts against which we uphold multiple valid infringement claims are treated as repeat infringers. Depending on severity and frequency, this results in a formal warning, temporary suspension, or permanent ban — following the same enforcement ladder described in our Community Guidelines.

8. Applicable law

This policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Nothing here limits any right a copyright or trademark owner has under applicable law to pursue a claim independently of AYE Market's internal process.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes are reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
