This Dispute Resolution Policy explains AYE Market's role — and its limits — when a disagreement arises between users of the AYE Market app and website (the "Service"), operated by AYE Tech Hub ("we," "us," "our"). It applies to buyer-seller disputes, employer-candidate disputes, and any other disagreement arising from a listing, application, or conversation on the Service.
1. AYE Market is not a party to your transaction
AYE Market is a venue that connects buyers, sellers, employers, and job candidates. When a buyer and seller agree on a sale, or an employer and candidate agree on a job, AYE Tech Hub is not a party to that agreement. We don't set the terms of the deal, don't collect or hold payment for it, and don't guarantee that either side will honor what they promised. This is also stated in our Terms of Service.
2. What AYE Market will do
- Review reports — every report submitted about a listing, user, or conversation is reviewed by a human moderator.
- Take platform-level action — where a report reveals a violation of our Terms, Community Guidelines, or related policies, we can remove content, restrict features, or suspend or ban an account.
- Preserve records on request — if you're pursuing your own dispute outside the app (for example, with the police, in mediation, or in court), we can preserve relevant account and listing records on request to support that process.
- Provide guidance — our Safety Center outlines practical steps for resolving problems and avoiding them in future deals.
3. What AYE Market will not do
- We do not compel a refund from a seller or a buyer.
- We do not force a seller to honor a listed price or condition, or force a buyer to complete a purchase.
- We do not mediate or arbitrate the substance of a private dispute — deciding who is "right" about a deal's terms, an item's condition, or a job's compensation is outside what platform-level enforcement can resolve.
- We do not hold funds in any form of escrow — because we never handle buyer-seller payments in the first place, there is nothing for us to release or withhold. See our Fraud Prevention Policy for why anyone claiming otherwise is a scammer.
4. Recommended resolution steps
- Talk to the other party directly. Most disagreements — a misunderstanding about condition, timing, or price — resolve fastest through direct, calm communication in chat.
- Document everything. Keep chat messages, photos, and payment records; they matter if the situation escalates.
- If unresolved, or if you suspect a scam, report it. Use the Report button on the listing, chat, or profile so a moderator can review it.
- For anything involving your physical safety, follow the emergency guidance in our Safety Center and contact local emergency services first.
5. If you suspect a scam
A dispute over an item's condition is different from fraud. If you believe you were deliberately deceived, see our Fraud Prevention Policy for common scam patterns and how to report them — deliberate fraud is treated more severely than an honest disagreement between two users acting in good faith.
6. Employer–candidate disputes
The same principles apply to the Jobs Marketplace: AYE Market is not a party to any employment agreement reached through a job post or application, and employment terms, pay, and working conditions are matters between employer and candidate directly. We will act on reports involving fake vacancies, pay-to-work scams, or harassment, consistent with our Prohibited Items Policy and Community Guidelines — but we don't arbitrate disputes over an actual job's terms once both sides have agreed to them.
7. Beyond the platform: Ethiopian courts
Where a dispute goes beyond what platform-level enforcement can resolve — for example, pursuing a refund, damages, or a criminal complaint — that falls to the applicable legal system, not to AYE Market. These matters are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Ethiopia, consistent with our Terms of Service.
